Mr. Lewis has arrived at his tolerance limit with Jenny. While he gives her a rundown of her bad behavior outside of a closet, she stands inside, partially clothed with her hands on her head, listening and sobbing. She has stolen his liquor and replaced it with water and she has already been caught smoking. He hopes her confinement has allowed her time to think of the severe consequences of her actions.
He releases her and puts her in position for the cane. Jenny makes such a fuss that Mr. Lewis has to give her hands a gentle slap with the cane to get her attention. When he finishes, he makes her promise to never drink alcohol at GBS again. But he also returns her to the closet for a couple more hours of reflection.
