The basis of the 15 episodically told stories is the oriental fairy tale collection "Tales of a Thousand and One Nights", in which the love of the young Nur-ed-Din for the slave Zumurrud is described. Zumurrud is kidnapped by robbers and Nur-ed-Din's search for her turns into a journey of the most unusual adventures and experiences. The individual stories tell of the joys of love, erotic relationships between men and women, poets and young slaves as well as eroticism from other countries and exotic cultures. After a long odyssey, Nur-ed-Din finds his way back to his palace as king, and his love can come true.
