The heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, the young Crown Prince Rudolf, leads a vicious and frivolous life in a secluded, sunny villa. He loves bourgeois Sofia in an immoral way, lolls naked in the garden, rolls in haystacks with his elderly servant Therese. Surrounded by a bizarre entourage, he mocks fatherly Puritanism through his unbridled life. His stepsister Sofie and a young count arrive at the castle. The arrival of the permissive and playful couple gives the opportunity to invent new erotic and provocative games. He invites the daughters and sons of the empire's most influential families to a glittering party in the villa. Disinhibited by champagne mixed with a mysterious powder, soon all covers fall off. Rudolf wants to photograph and publish these unbridled scenes of decadence, thus exposing the veiled degeneracy of the ruling class. An extravagant orgy begins, which continues into the next morning...
