"Shibari", actually borrowed from the war craft of the Samurai, is still today the epitome of traditional Japanese bondage art. Together with Osada Steve, Japanese by choice and grandmaster of erotic bondage, we take the viewer to some of the hot spots of the European bondage scene. In intense images from a fascinatingly strange subculture as well as interviews with "Rope-Addicts", artists, philosophers and sympathisers, the film portrays a scene whose members seek their freedom and happiness in a radically lived sexuality. Submission, pain and happiness are not contradictions for them.
