Sepp and Willy are the locomotive driver and stoker of the small Bimmelbahn and always reach their destination station very late. However, the mayor of the small community, Alois Brummberger, is waiting impatiently at the station for his future riffraff parents to marry Josefa. When the wedding celebrations of Sepp and Willy are very much disturbed, he wants to enforce the closing of the railway line. One day the time has come: Sepp and Willy are dismissed. But they buy the locomotive and the wagon for the scrap metal price and open their own railway company...
